Summary

NOAA Fisheries announces a valid specified fishing agreement between the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) and the Hawaiʻi Longline Association.

The agreement allocates up to 1,500 metric tons of CNMI’s 2022 longline bigeye tuna limit to U.S. longline fishing vessels. The agreement supports the long-term sustainability of fishery resources of the U.S. Pacific Islands, and fisheries development in the CNMI.

The start date for attributing 2022 bigeye tuna catch to the CNMI under the agreement is November 21, 2022
