Amendment 12 to the FMP for the Groundfish of the Bering Sea and Aleutian Islands Management Area
Summary
NOAA Fisheries issues a proposed rule to implement Amendment 12A to the Fishery Management Plan for the Groundfish Fishery of the Bering Sea and Aleutian Islands Area. If approved, this proposed rule would regulate the incidental harvest of certain species of crabs and Pacific halibut by U.S. fishermen conducting commercial fisheries for groundfish in the U.S. exclusive economic zone of the Bering Sea and Aleutian IslandsĀ area. The proposed regulations are necessary for the conservation and management of marine fishery resources in the EEZ off Alaska and for the orderly conduct of the groundfish fisheries.
