Summary

This action allocates zero trips into the Closed Area II Yellowtail Flounder/Haddock Special Access Program to target yellowtail flounder and instead opens it for fishing year 2026 to target haddock. This action additionally closes the Regular B Days-at-Sea Program for fishing year 2026. This action is necessary to ensure that the Northeast multispecies common pool fishery may achieve the optimum yield for the relevant stocks, while controlling catch to help prevent quota overages.

This action allocates the total number of trips for common pool vessels into the Closed Area II Yellowtail Flounder/Haddock Special Access Program and closes the Regular B Days-at-Sea Program, for fishing year 2026, through April 30, 2027.
