Fishing Type
Action Status

NOAA Fisheries, on behalf of the Secretary of Commerce, is reopening a request for nominations for the advisory committee established under the Western and Central Pacific Fisheries Convention Implementation Act. The Permanent Advisory Committee, composed of individuals from groups concerned with the fisheries covered by the Western and Central Pacific Fisheries Convention, will be given the opportunity to provide input to the United States Commissioners to the Western and Central Pacific Fisheries Commission regarding the deliberations and decisions of the Commission. Although NOAA Fisheries has received a number of nominations, the process is being reopened in order to ensure an equitable balance among representatives of the fisheries covered by the Convention, as specified in the Act.

Each appointed member of the Permanent Advisory Committee will serve for a term of two years and is eligible for reappointment. This request for nominations is for the term to begin on August 3, 2021.

Nominations must be received no later than May 10, 2021. Nominations previously submitted in response to the notice published on January 4, 2021 (86 FR 73), need not be resubmitted.
