Pierce County and Public Works Flood Risk Reduction Structures Maintenance and Operations Habitat Conservation Plan
Summary
NOAA Fisheries is issuing a Notice of receipt of an application for an Endangered Species Act (ESA) Section 10(a)(1)(B) Incidental Take Permit and Availability of a Draft Environmental Assessment for the Pierce County Planning and Public Works Habitat Conservation Plan for its flood risk reduction structures maintenance and operations in Washington for review and public comment. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has also received an ESA Section 10(a)(1)(B) Incidental Take Permit application from Pierce County Planning and Public Works for its flood risk reduction structures and maintenance and operations.
This Habitat Conservation Plan was prepared by Pierce County Planning and Public Works in cooperation with NOAA Fisheries and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to provide for the conservation of Covered Species through the implementation of the Conservation Program. NOAA Fisheries is the lead federal agency, while the USFWS is a cooperating agency.
If appropriate, NOAA Fisheries would issue an ESA Section 10(a)(1)(B) permit for incidental take of Covered Species under the Conservation Program for a 30-year duration.

The comment period on the Draft Environmental Assessment for the Pierce County Planning and Public Works Habitat Conservation Plan will be for 30 days. Comments may be submitted via email to PierceCountyHCP@noaa.gov.
