Summary

NOAA Fisheries announces a proposed rule to maintain existing annual catch limits for deepwater shrimp and precious coral commercial fisheries in the main Hawaiian Islands.

The catch limits would apply in federal and state waters around Hawaiʻi for fishing years 2026–2028. We are also proposing accountability measures to correct or mitigate overages if they occur.

NOAA Fisheries is accepting comments on the proposed rule through August 24, 2026.
