Summary

NOAA Fisheries is proposing to modify purse seine fishing restrictions and the 2022 longline bigeye tuna catch limit in the Western and Central Pacific Fisheries Commission convention area. We are undertaking this action under the authority of the Western and Central Pacific Fisheries Convention Implementation Act to satisfy the obligations of the United States as a Contracting Party to the Convention on the Conservation and Management of Highly Migratory Fish Stocks in the Western and Central Pacific Ocean.

NOAA Fisheries is accepting comments on the proposed rule through October 3, 2022.
