Tribal Resource Management Plan (TRMP) for the Yurok Tribe

NOAA Fisheries has issued an Endangered Species Act (ESA) determination under the ESA tribal 4(d) rule for a Tribal Resource Management Plan (TRMP) prepared by the Yurok Tribe. NOAA Fisheries prepared an Evaluation and Recommended Determination, a Final Environmental Assessment, and a Biological Opinion (see Supporting Materials, below).

The TRMP describes the proposed fisheries, limits for harvest, and plans for monitoring and evaluation of the effects on coho salmon from the fisheries, which will occur in the Klamath River within the Yurok Reservation. The management objective is for the Tribe to conduct fisheries in a manner that does not appreciably reduce the likelihood of survival and recovery of ESA-listed coho salmon. The TRMP will provide for important harvest opportunities for Yurok Tribal members.
