BSAI Crab - Permits

  • Federal Crab Vessel Permit - An annual FCVP is required for owners of any vessel used in the rationalized crab fisheries (CR crab, includes IFQ/IPQ fisheries; CDQ fisheries except Norton Sound king crab; and the golden king crab allocation to Adak). Operation Type endorsements are: SFP (Stationary Floating Processor); CPR (catcher-processor); and CAT (catcher vessel). This permit has requirements for VMS and logbook reporting: 2024/25 (CSV), 2023/24 (CSV), 2022/23 (CSV), 2021/22 (CSV), 2020/21 (CSV), 2019/20 (CSV) 2018/19 (CSV), 2017/18 (CSV), 2016/17–2005/06 (ZIP)
  • Registered Crab Receiver (RCR) - An annual RCR permit is required for the rationalized crab fisheries (CR crab, includes IFQ/IPQ fisheries; CDQ fisheries except Norton Sound king crab; and the golden king crab allocation to Adak). This permit is required to receive any unprocessed crab from the harvester; the owner/operator of a vessel that processes CR crab at sea, any person holding IPQ, and any person that is required to submit a Departure Report. For shoreside operations, an RCR permit is required for each shore facility. Community Quota Entities

Community Charter Halibut Permits (CHPs) may only be held by the Community Quota Entities (CQE) representing the eligible community. CQEs also may obtain additional "regular" CHPs by transfer, up to program limits.
