North Pacific Observer Program Training Schedule

Observer Training to become a certified North Pacific observer consists of a comprehensive three-week program held in Seattle. The curriculum includes safety while at sea, sampling methodologies, species identification, and data documentation requirements. Please see below for dates, training type, and location information.

Notes

  • All 1-day and Annual briefings will be conducted using remote tools until further notice.

  • A 2-day tutorial can be added to any 1-day on an as needed basis. Please request a 2-day tutorial at least 5 business days prior to the associated 1-day briefing.

  • Fixed LL2 classes are not currently scheduled due to the hands-on training components.

  • Fish ID classes are not currently scheduled due to the hands-on lab component. Fish ID requirements are being waived on a deployment by deployment basis.

  • 3-week training classes are currently postponed until further notice.
