North Pacific Observer Program Training Schedule

Observer Training to become a certified North Pacific observer consists of a comprehensive three-week program held in Seattle. The curriculum includes safety while at sea, sampling methodologies, species identification, and data documentation requirements. Please see below for dates, training type, and location information.

  • 1The date and locations of fixed gear LL2 classes will be determined once you have determined your training needs. Please provide input on your at least 2 weeks in advance of a preferred class start date.

  • 2 This three-week training class starts on Tuesday, May 14 and spans an observed federal holiday (5/27) and class will not be held on that day.
