Effort Caps for Highly Migratory Species Pelagic Longline Monitoring Areas

Each monitoring area has an effort cap that limits the number of sets that can be fished in each area. NOAA Fisheries monitors the number of sets in each area and will close the area when an effort cap is reached or is expected to be reached. The table below lists the effort caps in each area and the number of sets that have been deployed. To ensure participant confidentiality, the number of sets may show the "<" symbol where needed. The numbers are considered preliminary and are subject to change.
