IB 07-107: NMFS Opens Directed Fishing for Groundfish by Vessels Using Trawl Gear in the Gulf of Alaska

Notice of a fishery management action.

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) is reopening directed fishing for groundfish by vessels using trawl gear in the Gulf of Alaska (GOA), effective 1200 hrs, Alaska local time, October 10, 2007, according to Robert D. Mecum, Acting Administrator, Alaska Region, NMFS.

This action is necessary to fully use the 2007 Pacific halibut prohibited species catch limit specified for vessels using trawl gear in the GOA to resume and is issued pursuant to 50 CFR 679.25(a)(1)(i), (a)(2)(i)(C), and (a)(2)(iii)(D).
