IB 08-132: NMFS Opens Directed Fishing for Northern Rockfish in the Western Regulatory Area of the Gulf of Alaska

Notice of a fishery management action.

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) is opening directed fishing for northern rockfish in the Western Regulatory Area of the Gulf of Alaska (GOA) at 12 noon, Alaska local time (A.l.t.), November 18, 2008, according to Robert D. Mecum, Acting Administrator, Alaska Region, NMFS.

This action is necessary to fully use the 2008 total allowable catch of northern rockfish in the Western Regulatory Area of the GOA and is issued pursuant to 50 CFR 679.25(a)(1)(i), (a)(2)(i)(C), and (a)(2)(iii)(D).

This information bulletin only provides notice of a regulatory change. For the purposes of complying with the regulatory change, you are advised to see the actual text of the regulation in the Code of Federal Regulations.
