IB 12-80: NMFS Opens Directed Fishing for Pacific Cod by Vessels using Pot Gear in the Central Regulatory Area of the Gulf of Alaska

Notice of a fishery management action.

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) is opening directed fishing for Pacific cod by vessels using pot gear in the Central Regulatory Area of the Gulf of Alaska (GOA), effective 1200 hrs, Alaska local time (A.l.t.), October 29, 2012, according to James W. Balsiger, Administrator, Alaska Region, NMFS.

This action is necessary to fully use the 2012 Pacific cod total allowable catch apportioned to vessels using pot gear in the Central Regulatory Area of the GOA. Other closures remain in full force and effect.

This information bulletin only provides notice of a regulatory change. For the purposes of complying with the regulatory change, you are advised to see the actual text of the regulation in the Code of Federal Regulations.
