IB 13-47: NMFS Opens Directed Fishing for Atka Mackerel in the Central Aleutian Island District of the Bering Sea and Aleutian Islands for Vessels Participating in the BSAI Trawl Limited Access Fishery

Notice of a fishery management action.

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) is opening directed fishing for Atka mackerel in the Central Aleutian Island District of the Bering Sea and Aleutian Islands Management Area (BSAI) at 12 noon, Alaska local time, July 9, 2013, according to James W. Balsiger, Administrator, Alaska Region, NMFS.

This action is necessary to fully use the 2013 total allowable catch of Atka mackerel in the BSAI and is issued pursuant to 50 CFR 679.25(a)(1)(i), (a)(2)(i)(C), and (a)(2)(iii)(D). Other closures remain in full force and effect.
