IB 16-67: NMFS Opens Directed Fishing for Pacific Cod by Trawl Catcher/Processors in the Central Regulatory Area of the Gulf of Alaska

Notice of a fishery management action.

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) is opening directed fishing for Pacific cod by catcher/processors using trawl gear in the Central Regulatory Area of the Gulf of Alaska (GOA), effective 12 noon, Alaska local time (A.l.t.), September 1, 2016, through 2400 hours, A.l.t., December 31, 2016, according to James W. Balsiger, Administrator, Alaska Region, NMFS.          

This action is necessary to fully use the 2016 total allowable catch apportioned to trawl catcher/processors in the Central Regulatory Area of the GOA and is issued pursuant to 50 CFR 679.25(a)(1)(i), (a)(2)(i)(C), and (a)(2)(iii)(D).
