IB 25-24: Apportionment of the Groundfish Reserve in the Bering Sea and Aleutian Islands Management Area

Notice of a fishery management action

The 2025 initial total allowable catch (ITAC) and total allowable catch (TAC) for four species or species groups in the Bering Sea and Aleutian Islands (BSAI) management area have been supplemented by amounts apportioned from the BSAI non-specified reserve, according to Jonathan M. Kurland, Administrator, Alaska Region, NMFS. This action is being taken in accordance with 50 CFR 679.20(b)(3).

The following table summarizes the apportionments in metric tons (mt):

1The 1,415 mt for BS Greenland turbot TAC reflects the revised ITAC of 1,264 mt and the Community Development Quota reserve allocation of 151 mt. 

Fishermen are reminded that all actions and closures remain in full force and effect. This apportionment does not rescind or modify closures to directed fishing or actions prohibiting retention of a groundfish species.
