The Alaska Fisheries Science Center (AFSC) and the Alaska Regional Office (AKRO) have finalized the observer and electronic monitoring (EM) selection rates for the 2026 fishing year. The table below contains the final 2026 selection rates. The Final 2026 Annual Deployment Plan for Observers and Electronic Monitoring in the Groundfish and Halibut Fisheries in Alaska (ADP) was delayed due to the lapse in federal appropriations (October 1 - November 12, 2025). The Final 2026 ADP, which will contain the final selection rates (see table below), will be available on the NMFS website no later than January 15, 2026.
The Observer Declare and Deploy System (ODDS) has been programmed with the monitoring rates shown in the table below. Please use the ODDS to log any planned 2026 fishing trips. We strongly encourage all users to log any planned trips well in advance by using the ODDS online application as it is the most efficient method for logging trips. However, if the application is unavailable and you need to log a trip, you may call the ODDS Help Center at 1-855-747-6377 or (206) 673-3338 for assistance logging trips.
