The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) is prohibiting commercial fishing for salmon in the Cook Inlet EEZ Area, effective 0700 hours Alaska local time, August 5, 2026, according to Jonathan M. Kurland, Administrator, Alaska Region, NMFS.
This action is necessary to prevent exceeding the total allowable catch of the aggregate coho salmon stock complex. This action is issued pursuant to 50 CFR 679.118(c)(1)(i).
