NMFS Opens Directed Fishing for Northern Rockfish in the Western Regulatory Area of the Gulf of Alaska

Notice of a fishery management action.

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) is opening directed fishing for northern rockfish in the Western Regulatory Area of the Gulf of Alaska (GOA) at 12 noon, Alaska local time, July 17, 2009, for 96 hours according to Robert D. Mecum, Acting Administrator, Alaska Region, NMFS.

This action is necessary to fully use the 2009 total allowable catch of northern rockfish in the Western Regulatory Area of the GOA and is issued pursuant to 50 CFR 679.25(a)(1)(i), (a)(2)(i)(C), and (a)(2)(iii)(D).
