NMFS Opens Directed Fishing for Pacific cod by vessels catching Pacific cod for processing by the inshore component of the Central Regulatory Area

Notice of a fishery management action.

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) is opening directed fishing for Pacific cod by vessels catching Pacific cod for processing by the inshore component of the Central Regulatory Area of the Gulf of Alaska, effective 1200 hrs, Alaska local time (A.l.t.), December 27, 2011, according to James W. Balsiger, Administrator, Alaska Region, NMFS.

This action is necessary to fully use the 2011 total allowable catch of Pacific cod by vessels catching Pacific cod for processing by the inshore component of the Central Regulatory Area of the GOA. Other closures remain in full force and effect.
