NMFS Opens Directed Fishing for Pacific Cod by Vessels Using Pot Gear in the Central Regulatory Area of the Gulf of Alaska

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) is opening directed fishing for Pacific cod by vessels using pot gear in the Central Regulatory Area of the Gulf of Alaska (GOA), effective 12 noon, Alaska local time (A.l.t.), April 6, 2017, through 1200 hours, A.l.t., June 10, 2017, according to James W. Balsiger, Administrator, Alaska Region, NMFS.           

This action is necessary to fully use the A season allowance of the 2017 total allowable catch apportioned to vessels using pot gear in the Central Regulatory Area of the GOA. Other closures remain in full force and effect.
