NMFS Opens Directed Fishing for Pacific Ocean Perch, Northern Rockfish, and Dusky Rockfish in the Western Regulatory Area of the Gulf of Alaska

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) is opening directed fishing for Pacific ocean perch, northern rockfish, and dusky rockfish in the Western Regulatory Area (between 159 degrees and 170 degrees W. longitudes) of the Gulf of Alaska (GOA), effective 12 noon, Alaska local time, October 15, 2014 according to James W. Balsiger, Administrator, Alaska Region, NMFS.

This action is necessary to fully use the 2014 total allowable catch of Pacific ocean perch, northern rockfish, and dusky rockfish in the Western Regulatory Area of the GOA. Other closures remain in effect.
