NMFS Opens Northern Rockfish in the Central GOA

Notice of a fishery management action.

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) is opening the directed northern rockfish fishery in the Central Regulatory Area of the Gulf of Alaska management area. This opening is effective 12 noon, Alaska local time, August 6, 1999, according to Steven Pennoyer, Administrator, Alaska Region, NMFS.

This action is necessary to fully utilize the total allowable catch of northern rockfish in this area. Other closures remain in full force and effect.

This information bulletin provides notice that a regulatory change has occurred. Do not rely upon it to guide you in complying with the regulatory change.
