NMFS Prohibits Directed Fishing for Pollock in Statistical Area 630 of the Gulf of Alaska 36 hours After Opening Directed Fishing for Pollock

Notice of a fishery management action.

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) issues an inseason adjustment prohibiting directed fishing for pollock in Statistical Area 630 (between 147 degrees and 154 degrees W. longitudes) in the Gulf of Alaska 36 hours after opening directed fishing for pollock, effective 12 midnight, Alaska local time, October 2, 2010, according to James W. Balsiger, Administrator, Alaska Region, NMFS.

This action is necessary to manage the 2010 pollock total allowable catch of pollock in this area. This action is issued pursuant to 50 CFR 679.20(a)(1)(i).

After the effective date of this closure the maximum retainable amounts at 50 CFR 679.20(e) and (f) apply at any time during a trip.
