When you apply for B-WET funding, it is important to follow all of the instructions in the Federal Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) that you are applying to on grants.gov. The NOFO contains important information about program priorities, required information, and scoring criteria to help you develop your proposal. B-WET strives for a balanced geographic distribution of funding and therefore encourages applications to reach students in school districts that have not been previously served by the programs. Only school districts in the Chesapeake Bay and Delaware Bay watersheds are eligible to apply within the mid-Atlantic region at this time. Check out this map and list for eligible school districts in the Chesapeake Bay watershed and this map and list for districts in the Delaware Bay watershed.
All Chesapeake proposals should support the education outcomes of the 2025 Chesapeake Bay Watershed Agreement. Bay Backpack is a comprehensive resource to help implement these priorities. Many of these resources are also relevant to projects in the Delaware Bay. In addition, proposals must support the NOAA Education Strategic Plan.
