Ashley is in a year-long Alaska Sea Grant fellowship with NOAA Fisheries Habitat Conservation Division in Juneau. Her work focuses on building capacity in Southeast Alaska for pinto abalone conservation and recovery. Ashley received her M.S. from University of Alaska Fairbanks in 2021 in Fisheries. Ashley's graduate work focused on nearshore rocky ecology, including abalone, and community-based research. She has a background in research science and education. Ashley is excited about this fellowship opportunity to continue her growth towards respectfully including Alaskan community knowledge and needs in the development of research, conservation, and recovery strategies.
