Barb graduated from the University of Alaska Southeast with a Bachelors of Science in marine biology in 2017 and holds an Associates of Science in Environmental Studies from Finger Lakes Community College in New York. As the Administrative Assistant for Protected Resources and Habitat Conservation Divisions, Barb maintains agency records, makes Division documents Section 508 compliant, and serves as the Environmental Consultation Organizer (ECO) coordinator for PRD in Alaska. She is part of the Invasive Green Crab Response TeamMarine Mammal Stranding/Large Whale Entanglement Response Networks, Pinniped Entanglement Group (PEG)Ocean Guardian School Network, and Whale SENSE liaison for southeast participants. Barb enjoys facilitating the Protected Resources Division marine mammal entanglement obstacle course at local schools and other community outreach events in addition to supporting staff efforts throughout the state.
