Donna is a research fishery biologist for the Howard Lab. Her first introduction to the lab was while working as a biological aid in the Microbiology department during her college summer sessions. This work included creating algal assays, taking part in cruise sampling, and monitoring local red-tide events. After completing her degree, she returned to work fulltime with the Ichthyoplankton investigation, assessing the distribution and abundance of marine fish eggs and larval species along the Northwest Atlantic. Her current work is focused on characterizing the habitats where fish, invertebrates, marine mammals and sea turtles live. She works alongside team members to create and test management tools to give users the ability to assess the habitat and to derive potential vulnerabilities to the species.
