Francisco Villagomez

Frank is from the island of Saipan located in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. He has worked as a fisheries biologist since 2012 for the Department of Land and Natural Resources’ Division of Fish and Wildlife. Frank holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Aquatic and Fisheries Science from the University of Washington and a Master of Science degree in Biology from the University of Guam. His thesis work focused on the life history of the deepwater snapper Pristipomoides filamentosus (opakapaka). Frank has extensive experience in coordinating research projects, including in-water fish and benthic surveys, collection and analysis of life history samples, fishery-dependent data analysis, and deployment of fish aggregating devices. He is also well-versed in fishery science and management due to his involvement in various Council advisory bodies.
