Jamie Clark
Jamie attended the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC for both her Bachelor’s and Accelerated Master’s degrees in Marine Science, with an emphasis in biological oceanography. She is currently a Research Associate II for the Cooperative Institute for Marine and Atmospheric Studies (CIMAS) working in the Biology and Life History Branch (BLH) within the Fisheries, Assessment, Technology, and Engineering Support Division (FATES) at the NOAA's Southeast Fisheries Science Center.
Jamie’s research primarily focuses on the life history and growth patterns of marine organisms. At the Beaufort, NC Lab, she has been using Fourier Transform Near Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-NIRS) to predictively age White Grunt otoliths from two different genetically distinct stocks from off the coast of the Carolinas and Florida.
Jamie is featured in the center's Faces of the Southeast Fisheries Science Center series. Read more about Jamie.
