Jennifer is working on species distribution models for larval, juvenile and adult Arctic cod, saffron cod and snow crab in the Arctic Management Region to determine the core habitat characteristics important to their distribution. These models will be used to refine the Essential Fish Habitat (EFH) descriptions for these species. She is working with BOEM, NOAA, DFO and UAF scientists on statistical modeling efforts to determine species distributions and associated habitat characteristics. In 2017, Jennifer completed an Alaska Sea Grant fellowship with AKR HCD focusing on Arctic EFH modeling work, which she is now building upon. She earned her Ph.D. in Fisheries from the University of Alaska Fairbanks in 2019.
