Kat Blair is a contractor supporting the Offshore Wind Team in project management and the development of a white paper on the potential impacts of offshore wind on North Atlantic right whales and related resources. She is based in her hometown of Washington, D.C. and holds a M.S. in Geography and Environmental Engineering from Johns Hopkins University and a B.S. in Environmental Biology from McGill University. In her role as Scientist II at EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc., PBC, Kat has supported coastal infrastructure resilience projects for the National Park Service and the state of Massachusetts. She managed inter-agency and multi-country projects in ecosystem-based management and climate change adaptation during her four years at the International Union for Conservation of Nature. Kat has additional background in scientific publishing and terrestrial and aquatic ecological fieldwork. Outside of work, Kat loves teaching scuba, cooking and baking, reading, playing soccer, hiking, and sharing nature’s weirdness and wonder with her niece and nephews.
