Leilani Konrad is a Marine Resource Management Specialist working in the Ecosystem Management Branch. Leilani will provide technical and administrative support to our regional wind coordinator, Sue Tuxbury, and the NOAA Fisheries Wind Team. Leilani recently concluded a California State Sea Grant Fellowship with the Policy Team at the Monterey Bay Aquarium conducting policy analysis and scientific research on a variety of ocean issues, as an Environmental Geographer. She completed her Bachelor's degree in Geography at Syracuse University and her master's degree at San Diego State University researching human-seal conflict over beach use in La Jolla, California, and Oahu, Hawai'i. Her experience includes conducting interviews with stakeholders and agency representatives, surveying wild sea otters, and mapping invasive vegetation. She has a variety of technical skills including GIS analysis, PSQL database management, scientific writing, and research project coordination and management. Outside of work she enjoys taking long walks outside, playing with her two cats Mochi and Miso, and reading Stephen King novels.
