Maggie grew up on a farm in Iowa before getting her Bachelor's at Cornell University focusing on fisheries management and resource economics. She began as a NEFOP observer in 2015 before joining the Fisheries Sampling Branch in 2016 to work with the Pre-Trip Notification System. In 2021, she earned her Masters from University of Rhode Island Graduate School of Oceanography with research focused on modelling the food web of Narragansett Bay. As the observer systems specialist, she will continue to work on the PTNS as well as the development of other observer and monitoring data systems. In her free time, she likes to explore the local parks and conservation areas, fish, read, and cook.
