Marie Guldin, Ph.D.
Background
Marie Guldin received her B.A. in economics from Bryn Mawr College in 2010 and earned a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Washington in 2019. She began work at the Northwest Fisheries Science Center as a contractor in June of 2013, supporting the Economic Data Collection (EDC) Program. Marie joined the Economics and Social Science Research (ESSR) Program as a full-time research economist in May of 2017.
Current Research
Marie's research focuses on developing economic models of shoreside fish processors, primarily to predict and analyze behavioral changes due to fisheries management decisions. Her current work studies how the West Coast Groundfish Trawl Catch Share Program influenced processor outcomes, and the effects of allocating harvest quota to shoreside processors in individual fishing quota (IFQ) programs.
