About
NOAA is seeking public input on regions of the country and relevant information to further the Aquaculture Opportunity Area identification process, related to Executive Order 13921 on Promoting American Seafood Competitiveness and Economic Growth, via a Request for Information and corresponding 45-day public comment period which closes September 14, 2026.
As part of this public scoping period, NOAA Fisheries will be holding public listening sessions that invite the public to provide comments. This RFI will inform the regions selected for undertaking the AOA identification process in the United States. NOAA will use the information received from this RFI to help determine where to focus efforts for future Aquaculture Opportunity Areas.
