On December 15, the Woods Hole Science Aquarium, our program partners at the Marine Biological Laboratory, and the Woods Hole Business Association are going all out with a full day of activities for the whole family, dubbed the Woods Hole Holiday Stroll.
It kicks off with Beautiful Santa's arrival at the aquarium via the NOAA Fisheries research vessel Gloria Michelle (weather willing) at 11 a.m. and ends with the lighting of a lobster trap holiday tree at the Landfall at 5 p.m.
In between, there are special offers and activities at the Landfall, the Woods Hole Inn, The Water Street Kitchen, Handworks, Inlet, the MBL Gift Shop, and Quick's Hole Tavern. The children's film Frosty the Snowman will be shown at 2:30, 3:00, and 3:30 p.m. in the dining room at the Captain Kidd. Hot cider and cookies will be available for the children from 2 to 4 p.m. This event is sponsored by the Captain Kidd and Friends of the MBL.
The Woods Hole Science Aquarium will be open special hours on Sunday, December 15 to welcome Santa and other visitors. Doors open at 10:00 a.m. Santa will arrive around 11 a.m. to meet and greet visitors until 2:30 p.m.
The Aquarium's live collection features marine fish and invertebrates that are found in waters off the northeastern United States including seahorses, some tropical species that are carried north by currents, and invasive species.
