Contains information collected such as: lengths, weights, sex, quantity, species, etc. from various bottomfish and pelagic species during frequent visits to the United Fishing Agency Fish Auction in Honolulu, Hawaii.
<purpose>To collect lengths and weights for size composition analysis and compare lengths of MHI vs. NWHI species that would otherwise be unattainable.</purpose>
<notes>The UFA fish auction provides an easily accessible, efficient means of collecting valuable life history data.</notes>
<supplemental-information>Dataset was created for the information collected from bottomfish species but during seasonal and TAC closures the sampling focus shifted to pelagic species. Opah is strongly represented in this dataset due to the discovery of a cryptic species and the additional sampling associated with this discover. Its frequent occurrence within this dataset is not an indicator of abundance, but rather a result of species-specific sampling.</supplemental-information>
