30 PAT tags were deployed on nesting loggerhead turtles at Juno Beach, FL in June 2012. The PAT tags are programmed to be deployed for one year and should report in June/July 2013. There have been three premature pop-offs, one of which appeared to be a mortality event. In addition, 10 of the turtles were also tagged with 10 GPS tags to provide detailed movement and behavior information.
To help management of loggerhead turtles and assess whether survival is lower in the Peninsular Florida subpopution relative to other subpopulations.
