Attitude and preference surveys can be used to identify stakeholder and/or public priorities, concerns, satisfaction, and knowledge of marine resources and marine resource management.
Attitude and preference surveys assist the agency in making decisions that minimize social, cultural, and economic impacts from management measures and can inform managers when developing management guidelines or policies. Attitude and preference surveys can also provide baseline measures of knowledge and education levels to help target outreach and communication efforts.
