National Saltwater Angler Registry (NSAR) National Registration Interface (NNRI)

The National Saltwater Angler Registry (NSAR) is a "national phonebook" of individual recreational saltwater anglers. The NSAR provides frames for MRIP angler effort and socio-economic surveys.

The NSAR National Registraion Interface (NNRI) is a web-based registration interface that allows individual recreational saltwater anglers and for-hire vessel owners and operators from non-exempted states to register in the NSAR. The NNRI also contains functionality to allow NSAR call center operators to enter individual recreational saltwater angler and for-hire vessel, owner and operator registration data as well as returned mail and updated registration data into the NSAR.

The NNRI was the first component of the NSAR and was synonmous with the NSAR until late 2013 when the NNRI was separated from the main NSAR project.

Now the NNRI is one input into the NSAR and is treated similarly to the individual state data inputs.

The NNRI includes:

o Public registration interface

o Call center operator registration management interface

o Returned mail interface

This metadata record is intended to provide current, summary information on the National Saltwater Angler Registry (NSAR) National Registraion Interface (NNRI). As the system continues to evolve, each production release of NNRI will have a child metadata record within this parent record (see "Child Items" below). This metadata record will be updated over time to reflect any major changes to the system. Minor changes and release specific information will be documented in the children, release specific metadata records.
