      <abstract>The Ecosystems Survey Branch is responsible for collecting distribution and abundance data on standardized dredge surveys which include the Atlantic Sea Scallop Survey and the Surfclam and Ocean Quahog Survey.</abstract>
      <purpose>The purpose of dredge surveys is to determine the distribution and biomass for Atlantic sea scallops, surfclams and ocean quahogs.</purpose>
