These data have been used to identify potential prey of sperm whales in the Gulf of Mexico.
To study the prey of sperm whales in the Gulf of Mexico.
A research cruise was conducted during January-March 2010 (Cruise number PI-10-01) which included targetted midwater sampling of potential prey of sperm whales feeding in the Gulf of Mexico. Data include visual survey, passive and active acoustics, sample collection, physical oceanographic data, and mid-water fish trawl data.
