Abstract: |
Fisheries oceanography research cruises were conducted aboard the NOAA Ship Gordon Gunter. During the survey, plankton samples are collected from a systematic grid of stations to assess distribution, occurrence, and abundance of the early life stages of a variety of species of fishes and invertebrates. This survey specifically targets larval bluefin tuna (Thunnus thynnus). Directed sampling efforts to assess tuna spawning and larval habitat in the Caribbean Sea and Gulf of Mexico were the main focus of this study. |
Purpose: |
To study larval bluefin tuna assemblages and ecology |
