The k-factor files contain the correction factors calculated from the headboat activity report. A correction factor is calculated for individual vessels by month.Total estimated effort is divided by reported effort to calculate a value for correcting reported landings.
The SRHS is not a true census, therefore landings/discard estimates must be corrected for misreporting. This data set contains the correction factor applied to logbooks for landings/discard estimates.

The "rule of three" and identification of majority allocations" are the primary data suppression methods.
2. Obscure (scramble) or remove the data identifier. For some types of data, confidential data Can be released as non-confidential if the identity of the person, vessel, company, etc. that submitted the data is not included or is scrambled as part of the data that are released.

4. Confidential data waived. The protection of confidential data can be waived by the person or business that submitted the data.

The data resides on a secure government network requiring multi-factor authentication for network access.

Data are loaded directly into the Oracle system from the eLog system. This data is then downloaded for use by limited SRHS personnel. Data are maintained in the Oracle system only, not in separate files. These downloaded files are archived on the NMFS Beaufort NC server.
