These data are haul positions and haul depths collected throughout the Gulf of Alaska and Aleutian Islands groundfish trawl surveys.
Vessel positions are recorded using Globe software installed on a computer that is also connected to a real time Global Positioning System unit and depth sounder for depth data. The log files are in a binary GLOBE format that is proprietary.
To assist in defining the distribution and relative abundance of the principal groundfish and commercially important invertebrate species that inhabit the Gulf of Alaska and Aleutian Islands.
