Representativeness
The surveys completed are generally representative of cost-earnings for American Samoa small boat and spear fisheries during 2015.
After the data were recorded through in-person primary data collection methods (paper), data were entered into the data entry file (MS Access database). The entered data were subject to logic tests and appropriate skip patterns. The data were assessed for outliers and cleaned. Finally, the cleaned data were used to generate data reports and summaries.
