The global unprojected Pathfinder SST files were received in 4km resolution. They were subset to the US and then assigned proper geofererencing coordinates. The images were reprojected, resampled down to 1.1km resolution, and subset again for the final geotif output currently available. Software used was PCI Geomatica 9.0 and EASI programming. The final Geotif files are 8 bit files. In order to get SST (in degrees Celsius) from the 8 bit numbers the following equation should be applied: SST (deg C) = ((8bit# * 0.15) + (-3.0)) An EASI program was run on the monthly geotif output images to create grand monthly means which consist of all of the months for the time series averaged together to make one mean image (ex: Jan '98, Jan '99, Jan 00, Jan 01, Jan 02,Jan 03, Jan 04 = Stell.tif).
