            <description>The global unprojected Pathfinder SST files were received in 4km resolution. They were subset to the US and then assigned proper geofererencing coordinates. The images were reprojected, resampled down to 1.1km resolution, and subset again for the final geotif output currently available. Software used was PCI Geomatica 9.0 and EASI programming. The final Geotif files are 8 bit files. In order to get SST (in degrees Celsius) from the 8 bit numbers the following equation should be applied: SST (deg C) = ((8bit# * 0.15) + (-3.0))</description>
